Running Diaries

Bill Simmons is my favorite sports writer of the last 10 years. His ESPN Page 2 column The Sports Guy presents a "regular guy" fan view of a variety of sporting events and his seamless injection of humorous pop culture references is always creative.

Among Simmons' formats is to write a running diary of a particular event, whether it be a World Series game, the NFL Draft, or anything else. In that spirit, this series of articles borrows (steals) that format for events that are common to an engineering career:
